Organisations urge the government to build new measures within their upcoming Clean Growth Plan that will address the gap in its low carbon policies!
A group of 30 leading firms, within the low carbon buildings sector, have written to the Business and Energy Secretary campaigning for the UK government to state within their upcoming Clean Growth Plan how they intend to address the noticeable gap in low carbon policies. These organisations have urged the government to include several points within their plan, such as;
- A target for all homes in the UK to have an Energy Performance Certificate rating at least ‘C’ by 2035.
- By 2020, all new buildings within the UK to be ‘nearly zero energy’, as stated under the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.
- A local authority-led approach to heat decarbonisation
- A strategy detailing the roll out of low carbon heating systems
